Many LED’s state an operational life of between 20,000 and 50,000 hours but fail to achieve this due to premature driver failure. LED Drivers are typically designed to operate at 230 V. Unfortunately the average EU voltage is over 230V! Running LED Drivers at these higher voltages can signifcantly reduce their operating life through capacitor deterioration due to heat.
What is LED Guard?
The Libra LED Guard unit is a single phase voltage monitor designed to protect LED lighting against high supply voltages. The LED Guard unit monitors the incoming supply voltage and reduces the supply to the lighting circuit by 13V while the grid voltage is equal to or exceeds 230V. Should the grid voltage drop below 230v the unit switches the lighting supply back to the grid voltage.
Rated at 10A, the unit is suitable for loads up to 2.3kVA
